Case study
Gigha Heat Pumps
Technical Assessment & Review
The client architect was looking for a review for a brief to enable 5 new builds for community housing trust on Isle of Gigha.
We could provide an independent check of the technical and compliance issues with using the heat pumps and write the specific contracting tender documents to enable the client and contractor have the confidence in procurement
Heat Load Modelling
A full set of MCS compliant heat loss calculations were done to EN12831 standards. This allowed the selection of the heat pumps with some confidence.
ASHP Sizing
We provided detailed specifications for Air Source Heat Pumps to provide space heating and hot water.
We selected equipment based on reliability. Also due to the remote nature of the island we also incorporated a possible independent back up solution should the client want 100% reliable back up.
Other checks were done such a electrical load rating of the heat pumps and noise level to mitigate futile problems post contract.
Contract documents
We provided technical specifications, layouts and employer’s requirements document to aid with the contractor tender for the Air Source Heat Pumps.
