Luths supports domestic hot water heat pump project for passive house build in Dumfries.
Luths has been appointed by the client direct to design and manage the installation of a new domestic hot water heat pump. This will support a new build passive house project in Dumfries and Galloway. A dedicated small heat pump will help the occupants save carbon and running costs as compared to electrical hot water from an immersion.
This will involve:
- Design calculations
- Detailed specification
- Procurement and tender services
- Installation project management
- Commissioning and verification
Following on from our energy assessor SAP EPC work earlier in the year, the client approached us for assistance in the construction phase for sustainable building services. As specialists in low carbon technologies we were able to guide the design team and client to the most cost effective choice for their project. In this case, as it is passive house, is primarily around their domestic hot water requirements as the largest single use of energy in the building.
