Luths had previously been appointed by the client to do a SAP EPC compliance study for a domestic new build. We also looked at outline service  plans including, energy demand, cost, payback and CO2 savings under various options.

The outline study showed a risk of overheating, which suggested that a more detailed investigation using dynamic modelling would enable the design team to target reductions in solar gain with precision accuracy – assigning measures to where they are of greatest benefit and maximising natural cooling of the building without any need for air conditioning.
